The Penwith Landscape Partnership team have been very busy recently! Here are some of the things we've been up to:

  • After undertaking final clearance work and archaeological surveying at Mulfra Vean, we were able to identify a previously unrecorded iron age courtyard house

  • Penwith Green Fair April 2019We finished our clearance work at Bosullow Trehyllys to prepare the site for a drone survey

  • We have undertaken vegetation clearance and archaeological surveying at Mill Farm, Bosigran

  • Our volunteers also surveyed Tregeseal Entrance Grave

  • We have replaced the kissing gate leading to Boscawen-ûn stone circle from the A30

  • Dates for the first Local Landscape Character Assessment workshops in Ludgvan and Zennor have been set up

  • Several of our volunteers received training in outdoor first aid, brush cutting and Cornish hedging

  • We have continued working with farmers, offering training opportunities, soil sampling and advice

  • Our volunteers have begun work repairing Cornish hedges on Penwith farms

  • We have attended events including parish meetings and the Penwith Green Fair

As we move towards the summer, our volunteer days will be focusing on a variety of tasks including more Cornish hedge repairs, repairing and upgrading access furniture, and species surveying. On the latter note, we have a number of training events coming up- click here for more information.
