Grazing on Boswens Common.webpAfter a long dry summer James Daniel of Precision Grazing and I have produced a YouTube video for livestock farmers on planning for the winter 2022 and into 2023 - view the video now at the end of this blog post, or by clicking here. James has also provided the slides used on the video and a template on how to ‘Prepare a winter feed budget for your stock’ which you can download by clicking here. James encourages everyone to complete this budget as soon as possible: the key phrase was ‘Kiss the Frog’, in other words the sooner you know your winter feed position, the broader the range of strategies available to a farmer to avoid a costly feed deficit in January / February 2023

If you would like further help or have any questions, please contact James by email: james@precisiongrazing.com or call him on 07534 930484

The PLP can also offer a limited free soil sampling service, free compaction testing, and the hire of an aerator (within the PLP area) for a rate of £60 per day plus VAT. If any these services are of interest to you, please contact Phil Pengelly by email at philip.pengelly@cornwallwildlifetrust.org.uk or call 0797 6731376.
